The beauty of flowers is an important part of the worship at St. John’s. A pedestal at The Chancel Steps and a small vase in The Lady Chapel is arranged with dedication and skill every week, except during the seasons of Lent and Advent. The flowers are a reminder of God’s glory and his gifts.
The flowers are paid for through donations or given by various church groups. Wedding flowers are often given by the bride and anyone wishing to arrange the flowers in memory of a loved one or to celebrate a special occasion may add their name to the flower rota. Alternatively you might like to provide or pay for flowers to be arranged on your behalf. The rota is displayed at the back of the church. We welcome people to display informal arrangements if that is what they would prefer.
St. John’s also helps to arrange Flower Festivals in the church, usually to celebrate a special occasion. The church is then filled with displays of flowers in scenes and arrangements.
