The Mother’s Union is made up from a wide age range and is dedicated to Christian family life. During 1998, the branch celebrated its centenary with the theme ‘All my hope on God is founded’, and is well placed to go forward for another 100 years.
Numerous events throughout the year ensure that there is something for everyone.
Speakers -covering various subjects such as:
‘Chernobyl’, the Social Policy Officer for the Diocese, ‘A Day at the Palace’, ‘My Life as a Magistrate in Bath’ to name but a few.
We attend Deanery, Archdeaconry and Diocesan meetings, enabling us to visit other areas, to join with neighbouring branches to share in their various activities.
There is a Corporate Communion Service each year followed by a fellowship lunch in our Church Hall.
Money is raised to help the work of The Mothers’ Union Worldwide, together with many other Mothers’ Union Projects and we support The Children’s Society.
Meetings are on the second Tuesday of the month in the Church Hall at 2.30 p.m., enabling Mums with children at school to come and join us before they collect them. On the first Tuesday of the month at 2.45 p.m. there is a short 15 minutes of refreshing, quiet prayer in the Lady Chapel
New members are always most welcome.
